How Cam Tokens Work: What Live Cam Site Tokens Cost and How to Spend Them

Short answer: Tokens are prepaid credits that live cam sites sell in packages and deduct for tips and paid shows. Their dollar value depends on the package you bought, so a tip of 100 tokens can cost between about $8 and $14 depending on the site. On the sites that only show prices after login, the euro prices we saw at checkout ranged from about €0.056 to €0.125 per token. Some sites skip tokens entirely and bill per minute in dollars.

This guide explains the token model, what the sites we cover publish about prices, and the habits that keep spending predictable. Every number is from a provider's own help pages, checked on 25 October 2026; where a site publishes nothing, we say so.

A cam token is a unit of prepaid credit that a live cam site sells in packages and that you spend on tips, private shows, group shows and extras. CamSoda's help centre describes tokens as prepaid and deducted from your balance as you use them, and that description fits every token site we cover.

The important consequence is that a token has no fixed value: its cost depends on which package you bought and sometimes on your country and payment method. A 100-token tip costs more if you bought the smallest package than if you bought the largest. Sites that want to avoid this confusion, such as Streamate and Jerkmate, use a currency pegged to the dollar instead.

Published token prices among the sites we cover range from $0.08 per token (Chaturbate wire and crypto purchases, CamSoda's largest package) to about $0.14 per token (CamSoda's smallest package). Stripchat and BongaCams show their package prices only after login, so their per-token values are not published publicly. Seen at checkout from a German account on 25 October 2026, prices in EUR including VAT; prices in other countries and currencies may differ. Stripchat's tokens cost €0.080 to €0.125 and BongaCams' about €0.056 to €0.125, depending on package and payment method; we do not convert these to dollars. Tokens, GOLD and credits are all prepaid site currencies, but GOLD on Streamate and Jerkmate is pegged at one GOLD per US dollar, while tokens and Flirt4Free credits have a value that depends on the package. Pegged currencies make the price of a show obvious; token prices need a conversion.

Streamate goes one step further and bills per minute without any package: you join a session at the listed per-minute rate and pay for the minutes used, with a daily limit as a cap. Flirt4Free uses credits with published per-minute ranges, for example 30 to 60 credits per minute for a standard private show, but does not publish the dollar price of credit packages on its rates page.

Private shows are billed per minute at a rate the model sets: 8 to 150 tokens per minute on Stripchat and 6 to 120 tokens per minute on CamSoda, with exclusive shows and spy modes priced differently. On Stripchat you must hold enough tokens for the show's minimum duration before it starts; on CamSoda you can leave at any time and pay for the time used.

At $0.10 per token, a 20-token-per-minute show costs about $2 per minute, or $20 for ten minutes. That is the calculation to do before you click. Streamate shows the dollar rate directly, and block sessions of 15 to 60 minutes are 5 to 20 percent cheaper there.

None of the sites we cover publishes an expiry for tokens on the pages we checked, and refunds are the exception: Stripchat refunds only the last unused package within 30 days, CamSoda only for billing errors, MyFreeCams within 30 days up to $1,000 if enough tokens remain, and BongaCams treats purchases as final with token compensation only after a malfunction. Streamate and Chaturbate publish no refund policy on the pages we checked.

Auto refill (Chaturbate), auto top-up (BongaCams) and Easy Re-ups (CamSoda) automatically buy another package when your balance drops below a threshold, charging the same card as last time. Chaturbate's triggers at 10 percent of your last purchase, BongaCams requires two-step verification to enable it, and all three can be switched off in your account settings.

These features are convenient during a show and expensive if you forget them. If you want every purchase to be a decision, turn them off right after your first purchase.

Decide a monthly amount in dollars before you buy, convert every per-minute rate into dollars using the package you actually bought, and keep automatic refills off; those three habits cover most overspending stories. Streamate's daily limit does the same job on the site's side and can be lowered to $25.

A few more practical points: check the minimum duration before a private show on Stripchat, prefer block sessions on Streamate for longer shows, and remember that VAT or sales tax may be added at checkout depending on your country, which CamSoda, Chaturbate and Streamate all mention.

In a public room you watch for free and send tokens as tips, often towards a goal the model sets for a specific action or show; a tip is deducted from your balance at once and is never refunded. CamSoda lists standard tips, anonymous tips and interactive toy tips that trigger a device, and Streamate's equivalent is GOLD sent to a performer at any time.

Tipping is where token value matters most, because a 100-token tip costs between about $8 and $14 depending on the package you bought on sites that publish prices. Decide the dollar value of your usual tip once, then tip in that amount rather than in round token numbers.

Suppose you set $30 a month: on CamSoda, 200 tokens for $20.99 plus 50 tokens for $6.99 come to $27.98 for about 250 tokens, enough for roughly 40 minutes at a 6-token floor rate or a few tips; on Streamate, fifteen minutes at $1.99 per minute cost $29.85, or $28.36 as a 15-minute block at 5 percent off. On sites without published prices, buy the smallest package and read its price at checkout.
